RA Half Moon Copper USA Balding Gag

A USA Half-moon gag with a single-jointed mouthpiece (15mm) is a type of horse bit characterised by its half-moon shaped rings and its single hinge in the centre, which creates a V-shape when pressure is applied. At 15mm thick, there is a slight increase of pressure due to the decrease of surface area. The lovely curvature of the mouthpiece fits over the horse's tongue and bars comfortably.

Our bit features a rectangular-shaped mouthpiece with rounded edges, designed for comfort and precision. The weighted mouthpiece minimises pressure on the cheeks while aiding in clear communication with your horse. The design also reduces the risk of cuts and chafing, and prevents the mouth from drying out by maintaining better lip contact.

The half-moon shaped rings on each side of the bit provide increased leverage and control, making it particularly useful for horses that require additional encouragement to lighten their contact or improve their responsiveness.  

The weight of the mouthpiece is designed for an instant release and reward movement allowing the rider to take pressure off instantly as the bit falls from the pressure zone.

Although some horses may be ridden in this all the time, it can also be used 2-3 times to help increase your horse's response before returning to classic gag.
